Plasma Pen™ Fibroblasting Treatments

Non-surgical, non-invasive fibroblasting treatments are gaining popularity as an effective way to achieve noticeable improvements in the appearance of aging, lax, or sun damaged facial skin. At Copeland Cosmetic Surgery, we have adopted, among other technologies, the German-engineered Plasma Pen™ by Louise Walsh International for its state-of-the-art technology, reputation for reliable clinical results, and outstanding training programs. Each Plasma Pen treatment is customized to suit the unique needs and goals of the patient to provide smoother, tighter, more youthful looking skin in almost any area of the face.

What Are Plasma Pen™ Fibroblasting Treatments?

Non-surgical, non-invasive fibroblasting treatments with the Plasma Pen use nitrogen plasma energy to stimulate skin and connective tissue regeneration. The fractional “micro-injuries” created by the Plasma Pen initiate a natural healing response in the skin and deeper tissue to create smoother, tighter, more youthful looking skin. During post-treatment healing, the fibroblasts in the tissue create new collagen and elastin fibers, which can reinforce and contract the structural framework of the skin for comprehensive rejuvenative effects. Depending on your specific problem areas, the nature of your aesthetic concerns, and the goals you hope to achieve, our team at Copeland Cosmetic Surgery can create a personalized Plasma Pen treatment plan to produce the results you desire. Often, Plasma Pen treatments can be combined with a more expansive facial rejuvenation plan that includes dermal fillers, BOTOX® Cosmetic, and other non-surgical options.

What Areas Can Plasma Pen™ Fibroblasting Treat?

Plasma Pen treatments can be performed on many areas of the face or body to target multiple signs of skin aging to lift, smooth, tighten, and rejuvenate. At Copeland Cosmetic Surgery, our team uses Plasma Pen to treat the appearance of:

We offer a wider range of targeted and specialized treatments performed with the Plasma Pen:

Treatments can be fully customized to suit your unique needs and achieve the degree of improvement you desire. During a consultation with our team, we will determine if Plasma Pen treatments or other non-surgical options are indicated for creating the results you want. In some cases, patients with more advanced signs of aging are better suited for facial plastic surgery procedures—such as facelifts, eyelid lifts, and forehead lifts—which can offer the greatest degree of rejuvenation and the longest-lasting results. If you are considering plastic surgery, Dr. Jeffrey Copeland can evaluate you for candidacy and discuss the most suitable options with you.

What Happens During Plasma Pen™ Fibroblasting Treatments?

Before your Plasma Pen fibroblasting treatment begins, an anesthetic will be administered to minimize any potential discomfort. Once the surface of the skin is numb, the Plasma Pen nano-probe administers energy in a precise fractional pattern along the surface of the treatment area. This process treats both the upper epidermis and dermis simultaneously. To complete treatment, silver colloidal gel and aloe vera will be applied to the skin to soothe and moisturize the area.

What Is Recovery Like after Plasma Pen™ Fibroblasting Treatment?

While there is only a brief recovery period after Plasma Pen fibroblasting, it is important for you to follow the detailed post-treatment care instructions to support optimal healing. For the first seven days following treatment, skin typically feels tight and dry. In this time, crusts form over the spots treated with the Plasma Pen. It is important not to pick off the crusts—they should be allowed to fall off naturally during the course of skin healing. Crusts usually take about a week to flake off. Closely follow the gentle skin cleansing instructions and use only skin care products that are approved by our team. To hydrate the treated area, silver colloidal gel and aloe vera can be applied as much as three times per day. Finally, protect your skin daily with SPF 50 for up to 12 weeks and avoid direct sunlight, indoor tanning, and/or sunbathing.

What Results Can I Expect after Plasma Pen™ Fibroblasting Treatment?

The majority of patients notice immediate improvements in the appearance of their skin following Plasma Pen fibroblasting treatment, and the quality of results should continue to improve as the skin heals over the next 12 weeks. As the tissue regenerates and the skin’s structure is reinforced with new collagen and elastin, patients generally notice smoother, tighter, plumper skin. Additionally, many patients notice a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, as well as a more even skin tone. In most cases, results achieved with Plasma Pen fibroblasting are projected to last up to three years, though re-treatment can be performed before the three-year mark.
